Yelp never lets us down! We had just gotten settled into our condo after a long travel day. Starving, and needing beers, we checked yelp and Spankys was close by. I am actually bummed we didn't get a chance to go back during our vacation we enjoyed it so much. The outside does not match the inside at all. When you walk in, it is super inviting and clean! TV's for the game, and a good size chalk board showing the beer selection. The service was very nice and friendly, and had no problem listed off beers and offering samples. After we had our brews, it was time to order dinner! There were 3 of us, we had burgers and a chicken sandwich. Burgers were exactly what we wanted! A great bar burger!! The chicken sandwich my husband had was really big. You will not be disappointed!

While on vacation, we visited this wonderful place twice in one week and I would not hesitate to go back! Both times we arrived towards the end of the evening and were welcomed wholeheartedly. The first time we tried the Mac & Cheese Eggrolls, the Pulled Pork Sandwich & pasta salad, and the Shrimp Po Boy. Everything was delicious! The pulled pork was wonderful and the pasta salad was very close to my own homemade recipe. You can tell that not only do they care about the quality of the food, but both nights the bartenders were fun, welcoming and cheerful. I also recommend the banana split pudding shots (the only ones we tried) and the frozen chocolate covered key lime pie on a stick! Delicious! Thanks for your hospitality!

Very friendly staff. Good was very good especially the Mac n cheese egg rolls - to die for. It is a small place and more a pub with good food than a restaurant. But I would definitely be making my way back there. Point to make if you are from the north and its football season this is the place to see the out of market games.

Food was just ok. Had the shrimp tacos and Mac and cheese. Was like Kraft box cheese and the tacos were nothing to write home about. Service was good.

The staff was friendly during our first visit, but not so much when we returned. We had put an order in close to when the kitchen was closed and then a few minutes later they changed their mind and said we didn't order in time. We were treated so rudely that we got up and left to happily spend our money elsewhere.

Just had our best meal of the trip and hate we waited until the last night here to visit Spankys! We were looking for a small place to catch the football game and were intrigued by the egg roll recommendations. We made pigs of ourselves but it was worth it. We first tried the chicken cordon bleu egg rolls and wings. Both were amazing! We've had lots of wings from lots of places and these ranked up there with the best. Not too large, nice and crisp. We ordered burgers too. My 1/4 pound was a gracious plenty but my husband went for the half pound and both were perfectly seasoned and prepared. Lots of topping variety. We simply could not leave without trying the Mac and cheese egg rolls too. OMG..that's all I can say. We're both miserably stuffed right now but it was worth it! We will definitely be back next visit. Thanks for the great service too

Spankys has phenomenal service, incredibly kind staff, and an all around wonderful atmosphere. The food is delicious; the drinks are never left unattended; the staff is incredibly kind to outsiders and insiders alike. An amazing place to hang out all around.

Fast and friendly. Some patrons were having way too much to drink and were a bit louder than I wanted to listen to at dinner so I asked for my food to go. Typical pub grub. Apparently they will put anything in an egg roll wrapper. I tried the mac & cheese and still think it was a mistake. Not a fan of the ranch dressing dip with sriracha either. Reuben was okay, onion rings were frozen like you get at Burger King. Not bad but not worth another visit.

Great food. Service was slow but the drinks were great-try the pudding shot! And the pretzels and tacos are outstanding!

This little place was fantastic!! We had their wings (perfect) with the ball park pretzels. Great for kids -- fresh, everything is home made. Next time, get the mac n' cheese egg rolls!!!! Will come back for sure!

Good bar food that is a walkable distance from the Hilton Resort. Service was excellent. There is limited inside seating and outside seating had a significant problem with flies. Drinks were well crafted and happy hour is a good deal. Regular prices are a bit high. Egg rolls are unique and tasty but over priced for the amount you get. But, we are in a tourist area.

We just happened in here looking for a quick bite. What a great surprise to find such excellent food . We had a delicious juicy burger, great fries and coleslaw and the yummy shrimp tacos Kenny, our server was attentive , friendly and helpful. I would definitely go back when in the area.

My husband and I happened upon this place on accident while we were heading toward the busier part of town to find food. We'd just walked 7+ miles down the beach and we were hungry and our dogs were barking (Spanky is a dog, haha). It was 11:30 when we stumbled across it, and they didn't open until 12:00, so we plopped down on their patio to rest our weary legs and wait for them to open. About ten minutes later, here comes the server telling us the kitchen won't be open for another twenty minutes or so, but can she get us something to drink!!! So awesome! We ordered the Mac 'n Cheese rolls (amazing), the fried pickles (amazing), the pork sliders (amazing), and my husband got a huge build-it-yourself burger which he described as "reeeeally good". We recommend ordering the cucumber wasabi dressing for the pickles (and everything else actually, it was delish). Service: Awesome Food: Awesome A great place for road-weary travelers: Very very awesome. Go here.

Went to Spankys after a visit to Tanger Outlet. It's very close with indoor and outdoor seating. Food was great. The bartender/waiter was hustling to ensure all customers had a fresh drink and orders placed. They could've had at least one other person helping out, but he was digging the challenge and high tempo. Try one of their egg roll selections and a Bloody Mary!

Amazing food!!!! Cosmos & shrimp tacos are out of this world!! Happy hour specials wonderful.. ;)

  • George M.

The excellent reviews forced me to try this place ! The food was excellent and beer selection was good. I tried the Cordon Blue egg rolls and they were to die for.... A/C was not working or something. I was looking for a break from the heat and sat there at the bar and stuck to my seat. But food made it worth it. I'm sure with all this heat they were having an issue with their cooling. This place is a must try !!

Great happy hour specials. A little of of the way. Seems like more of a local hang out. Cute dog as mascot.

We arrived here on Saturday and didn't have any plans for dinner. We passed by Spanky's on our way to our resort and decided it looked convenient. Needless to say WE WILL BE BACK. Leah is amazing, she was very helpful and very happy to be serving us. The food was AMAZING and the desserts were even better (if that's possible) ... This place was a great find and we can't wait to eat here more this week. LOVE IT!! Definitely come here!!

Saw all the good reviews so we gave it a try. Shrimp taco was good. But the Reuben sandwich was terrible. The corned beef was tough and hard to chew.

  • Jordyne H.

Mac and cheese egg rolls. Really nothing more to be said. Delicious!! Also, super friendly wait staff who went out of their way to make us feel welcome. Had an awesome time and seems like a good place to knock a few back.. Will have to return!

Excellent food! I had the fried shrimp and a Caesar salad, fantastic. My boys had the turkey melt, the Philly cheese steak, and the chicken parmesan...raves from everyone. And plenty portion wise. It is very a very small place but they have a nice outside patio for overflow. Luckily, we got the last table indoors as it was a very warm evening. We would definitely go back.

This place is fantastic! The shrimp appetizer and "custom made" burgers were great. The beer is nice and cold and I had the best Bloody Mary!

Great dinner for large party of 8! Egg rolls are awesome! Not the traditional. Try the mac n cheese egg roll. you won't be disappointed. Hamburgers are great! Good casual meal. Facility is not very big so go early with a large group.

First time there, it was close to where we were staying and anything with pub house is going to grab my attention. The macaroni egg rolls were amazing. They come as 2 whole egg rolls cut in half, so you have 4 pieces. There were 3 of us and we made this an appetizer as well as the chips and salsa. Hamburger was phenomenal, I added some chili since its homemade and that was a good choice. Great chili! My buddy had the cheesy turkey sandwich and he said the homemade marble rye bread was phenomenal. Will revisit.

  • Kathy H.

The reviews were right. It's a little local gem. Great beers on tap with outstanding wings. We sat outside and had outstanding service. Skip the chains and dine here. I'll be back!

Mac N Chz egg rolls were amazing! Def should get the blue cheese pub chips too. They were a small order but very tasty!! The egg roll variety changes daily. I believe the Mac and Chz are a standard. Will be back next time!!! Waitress was very helpful and attentive.

It's a great locals hangout with some really good food and the drinks are generously poured and at a reasonable price! It has become one of our go to places. The folks that own it do just that...own it! They are always there and take pride in providing consistent quality food and drink, as well as friendly conversation. Refreshing in this tourist town!

Awesome service, great food, full bar, and very affordable!! My son ordered the man n cheese egg rolls and loved them! My husband and I ordered cheeseburgers and they were cooked to perfection just like we ordered. The bleu cheese pub chips are awesome as are the cheeses fries. We'll definitely be going back!

Very friendly staff and great food. Place was right around the corner from our hotel, and was exactly what we were looking for. Very low-key, relaxed vibe. Food was great and cheap too. Mac and cheese egg rolls were as good as advertised. Would definitely come again.

Terrible service. The waiter seemed more intent on flirting with his two friends at the table next to ours than servicing our tables needs. It did not appear to be overly busy when we were there so waiting over an hour between ordering and getting our food was not unacceptable. Salads finally came out 3 minutes before the meals. Apps arrived at the same time as our meals. Two members of our party ordered the pepperoni rolls and said they were very greasy but very good. Our table was mixed on the Mac n cheese rolls. The fried pickles were very good. Nachos were less (quality) than average. I had noticed that you could get sauerkraut on your burger as a topping (for 59 cents). I had a crazing for it so asked if I could get it just as a side. It came in a small condiment cup (similar to a cup for ketchup) and they charged $3. Ridiculous. They did seem to have an extensive shot drink menu that may be worth the visit for anyone wishing to drink their night away. Atmosphere seemed more like a local bar spot where people need to eat in order to drink more than a restaurant. We would go to McDonald's before going back to this joint.

Cute little place that's easy to get to from the many hotels nearby. We got shrimp tacos and a half pound burger. Tacos are pretty good and burger was over cooked and absolutely not a half pound burger. Asked for no mayo and it was loaded with it. Pointed that out to waitress and didn't get a response. Please don't get the pub chips! They were cooked at such high heat and so burnt it made my eyes water. Waitress said that is how they are always served. Considering it's the one side you get I think 7 chips per entree is light but I didn't like the few I had. Overall, easy to get to so a+ for convenience and the server was friendly but it was underwhelming.

Here on business... Met the owners early in the week. Very hospitable, fun place even in the off season. Promised them I'd be back later cause they had NFL THURSDAY NIGHT FOOTBALL. Didn't let them down, came back and met the one and only Lynn (sp?) She had me feeling at home and kept the night fun and entertaining. Swing by and say what's up to her and Mike in the back. Great place to hang, I hear in the summer it's even better.

Just happened to come across this place while visiting Myrtle Beach and so glad we did! Walked in and was immediately greeted by bartender Lynne, who turned out to be an awesome person! The place is very small, with a bar and a few tables set up in the same area. It's a little off the beaten path of highway 17 which made it seem like perhaps a neighborhood pub. Nothing fancy, and sits between a pizza place and an ice cream place. I also heard they have love music and karaoke certain nights also. We ended up siting at the bar. Menu is pub fare with a little twist. We ordered a few things to share, and everything was awesome. The Bacon Mac n' Cheese Egg Rolls are to die for, and served with a side of Sriracha-Ranch dipping sauce. They had other "egg rolls on the menu that sounded amazing too like Chicken Cordon Bleu, Pulled Pork, and Pepperoni & Cheese...etc. we also shared a Philly Cheese Steak which peppers, onions, mushrooms and cheese on a bakery fresh hoagie roll. The beef was thinly shaved and melt in your mouth goodness! Well the night would not have been complete with a couple homemade pudding shots: Slippery Nipple and Banana Cream - all I can say is WOW! We travel to Myrtle Beach every year and this is one place I'll make a point to go back to. Loved the bartender Lynne - she was fun and friendly and a great bartender! She definitely helped make our time fun - she even introduced me to a new twist to my basic Hendricks & tonic. 5 stars!!!

Ordered take out for seven adults and four children. Chicken kids meals were nothing but fried breading and the restaurant forgot to give us the drinks that come with the kids meal that cost $6.99 each. They also forgot to give us one adult meal. When we drove all the way back and asked for the missing items they argued with us and asked us to pay for them again even though they were on the original order slip. The waitress was rude and not helpful. The food we did get was good but the portions were small. Due to the poor service we will not return for take out or to dine in.

Great local spot for a quick bite, cold draft beer, and fast friendly service all at a very reasonable price. Plus even better deals for Happy Hour.

    (4)
  • Beth W.

Great service and great prices! The homemade salsa was top notch! We went 2 nights in a row for happy hour and appetizers! Very comfortable feel and very welcoming. We definitely recommend it over the usual, typical bar scene.

Just the neatest little place, our bill was only 40 bucks including two entrees and drinks!! Also they have pudding shots to die for! Will be back for more!!

So we were actually trying to go to the pizza joint next door, which was closed during lunch...did not disappoint! The fried pickles were amazing. I ordered a buffalo shrimp egg roll, it was perfect for lunch, hubby had the club with pub chips he said it was also very good. Too bad this is the last day of our vacation:( and it's relatively close to the tanger outlet mall!!! Worth the mile drive down the road!!!

First time visit to Spanky's on a recent golf weekend to MB. Located on Kings Rd. at entrance to Hilton's Kings Plantation complex. Small place but friendly staff and vibe. Good place to plunk down at the bar and watch some sports on the Tele. We didn't eat this time so will need to update review later after the next visit. Ask Leah to make you a Chocolate Cake shot with the Stoli Vanilla!

This bar is great for food and drinks. As previous reviews stated, the happy hour specials are really cheap! From 4-7pm, appetizers are $5 and are amazing. The mac n cheese spring rolls are the best. The pretzels are interesting, and also great. The service was really attentive. Beer and food kept flowing. This is a great bar for any city. We will definitely come back to this bar whenever we are in Myrtle Beach. It is definitely a local spot, and not at all touristy.

Stopped in there with my boyfriend the other night we had excellent service and the food was outstanding I love it I will go back there a lot I'm a local and I can't wait to go back there . their shrimp appetizer was the bomb very friendly service as well. If you're in the area I highly recommend this place.

My new favorite place in Myrtle Beach! The food is absolutely amazing, it took no time from when we ordered for it to get to our table and it was all nice and hot! I really can't say enough nice things about the people who work here, they were all so friendly and very personable. I will be back and ordering the mac and cheese egg rolls again!

Loved this place. I would come here again and again. They have happy hour food prices which just seals the deal. $6 for their mac and cheese bacon egg rolls, which is an awesome deal. Those egg rolls are to die for! They sound so gross but you have to try them. Boyfriend and I split egg rolls, wings, soft pretzel, and a side salad and the bill was only $23; so worth it!

Walked into a local pub with a laid back atmosphere. One of the owners greeted us almost immediately and we sat down with a menu filled with common fare at these kinds of places. We decided on the pub chips, fried pickles and medium buffalo wings which came in a very short time. The food was outstanding and blew my standards of pub fare out of the water. Needless to say, a return trip is expected soon.

We highly recommend eating at Spanky's Pub House! We were in the mood for a chill atmosphere and good pub food. This is the place and will be our go-to when we come to MB again!! The macaroni, cheese and bacon egg rolls a must, as well as the hot wings! Eat at Spanky's!!! The Ross's are super nice folks too:)

The live music drew us in. What a great atmosphere on a wed. night! We sat at the outdoor patio & listened with a couple glasses of their house wine- which was quite good for a house variety. Very friendly people- Hope to get back & try the food before our vacation ends.

Mac and cheese egg rolls. Really nothing more to be said. Delicious!! Also, super friendly wait staff who went out of their way to make us feel welcome. Had an awesome time and seems like a good place to knock a few back.. Will have to return!

Get those Mac and cheese egg rolls. Also, sweetest bartender. They were understaffed but worked so hard and the food was good and cheap. So much win.

Great local spot for a quick bite, cold draft beer, and fast friendly service all at a very reasonable price. Plus even better deals for Happy Hour.

Relaxed atmosphere. Great food. This is my first time here, as a surprise lunch date with my fiance. The food is very tasty, worth it. You can sit at the bar or at a table. Great place to chill and watch college football.

Great little neighborhood bar/restaurant right outside the entrance to Kingston Plantation. Best wings around! Amazing Mac-n-cheese bites. Super friendly staff. Been here 3 times already and it's only day 3 of vacation. :)

The live music drew us in. What a great atmosphere on a wed. night! We sat at the outdoor patio & listened with a couple glasses of their house wine- which was quite good for a house variety. Very friendly people- Hope to get back & try the food before our vacation ends.
